Dr. Nicole Nedella
Dr. Nicole Nedella joined Pinnacle Family Medicine in September 2010. She was born and raised in Chandler, Arizona. She went on to college at Grand Canyon University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Biology. She was Adjunct Faculty at Grand Canyon University, teaching human dissection and anatomy for a year. She then went on to complete her medical school training at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class.
Dr. Nicole chose to go to an osteopathic medical school as she believes that the medical education there was excellent, and also provided something unique in giving her extra training in musculoskeletal medicine. Dr. Nicole went on to do her Family Medicine residency training at Phoenix Baptist Hospital. During this time, she discovered further that she loves the teaching aspect of medicine, not only helping patients understand more about their health and various disease processes, but also teaching medical students and residents. She is also Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern University, where she assists in teaching clinical skills to the medical students.
Dr. Nicole enjoys practicing full-spectrum care of the family, beginning from the newborn stage all the way through adulthood. She believes that the patient-doctor relationship is very important, and that fostering an environment of mutual trust and respect is of huge value in patient care. She and her husband, Dr. Brent Nedella, have worked together since they met in college, and believe they provide something unique to family medicine in that their family can provide a wide range of services to their patient’s families. She loves to focus time on women’s health, adolescent medicine, and also enjoys counseling patients on obesity, weight loss strategies, and healthy living in order to try to prevent disease processes before they start or progress. She also enjoys doing multiple office procedures such as skin biopsies, circumcisions, IUD insertions, and joint injections.
In her free time, Dr. Nicole enjoys hiking, running, kayaking, camping, and playing hockey. She also enjoys going to church, and spending time with her family and dogs.
